A home should wear its material honestly, and this residence at Sirsi does exactly that. The facade is anchored by a band of exposed laterite, its earthy texture grounding the composition while a crisp horizontal roof slab floats above on a slatted soffit, lit from within to give the elevation a warm evening glow. The single-storey volume is kept low and grounded, with vertical louvers and a screened compound that filter privacy without closing the home off from the street. Wall-washers graze the stone to celebrate its grain, and a generous sliding window line opens the interior to light and air, creating a serene, contextually rooted dwelling.
